You've heard my other audios before, and you can obviously hear the sounds of passing cars, their horns, sirens, people chattering about and neighborhood animals in the audio.
What changed?
Aside from obnoxiously loud horns which may penetrate to the audio, and some chirping birds, my audios now sound crisper and cleaner! And I'm very happy about that. For a long time, I've been using a portable recorder and a dynamic microphone.
There are two things that changed. One, my recording space. I used to be in a room where sound easily goes through the window, the ceiling and even the wall! So you can hear whatever is happening in the streets as if you were there, too in my recordings! I try my best to get rid of these noises as much as I can in post, but I can't be too aggressive with treating these noises in software because it will then impact my voice and triggers negatively too. But now, I have a better equipped room, it's still a work in progress, though!
Secondly, my audio equipment. I switched back to my 3DIO, after not using it for the longest time! Oh, how I missed playing with your ears. This microphone is so good for ASMR, I really missed it! Not only that, but I received an amazing gift... an AUDIENT audio interface! No, this is not an ad read!! You won't find any links here. Anyway, this interface was a game changer. I also used to have my 3DIO plugged into the portable recorder, but with this new interface... It somehow made my 3DIO less sensitive to the noises around me? But it still picked up my voice perfectly. I have been doing less in post because of this. I'm really happy with it.
I originally wanted to record this in audio, but as my room's still not completely treated and finished, I'm still at the beck and call of the environment here. I still have to look for timings where there's no obnoxiously annoying loud sounds for my recording sessions. So, please settle with this gently worded essay for now.
