King Halo is one of the most underrated uma in the Uma Musume series. When I read about her story, I couldn't help but feel bad for her. In the end, it was her mother doing it out of love, but that doesn't erase the emotional abuse Halo had to endure. I'd like to think that the trainer helped them reconcile with each other, and that Halo did her best to be one of the bests in the Golden Generation.
My voice doesn't fit her "ojou-sama" chuckle (I tried), but I still wanted to do this as a love letter for her. I also recently listened to Biwa Hayahide and it's lovely she wears glasses too! No, my head isn't that big!!
If you're not familiar with her story... King Halo belongs to an elite pedigree of horses where they thrived as stayers. Stayers are horses who excel in long race tracks, which are considered the most prestigious in the horse racing world. However, King Halo unexpectedly floundered in longer tracks, failing to capture victories there. When she switched to shorter distances, she won multiple races, and left her mark in an already stacked Golden Generation. This upcoming ASMR explores an alternate ending where King Halo persists and turns it around, managing to win one of the most prestigious races in the Japanese racing world, the Arima Kinen.
